People from all over California come to Belmont Shore to enjoy the Annual Belmont Shore Car show. What makes this car show unique is its location. Taking place on the usually busy Second Street (driven by an estimated 40,000 vehicles per day), attendees have the opportunity to intermix shopping and dining with viewing the gorgeous automobiles. Vendors along the street along with our unique and upscale shops, restaurants, cafes and sweet shops! You also can’t beat the weather of this beachside town with the warm sun and ocean breezes.
Open to 1975 & earlier vehicles, you can expect to find over 600 vehicles, some of the first automobiles ever made as well as classic roadsters, coupes, sedans, convertibles, muscle cars, sports cars, hot rods and low riders from the 1920’s through the mid 1970’s. Many cars are one-of-a-kind, limited editions or customized.
Over 40,000 people attend this event and sponsors present at the show include The Port of Long Beach, Performance Plus Tire & The Long Beach Airport. On display this year will be the fire truck from Rescue # 5 The Remembrance Rescue Project is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization created by firefighters to restore, preserve and share Rescue 4 and Rescue 5 from 9/11 as educational tools, historical artifacts and memorials. The Project involving former FDNY Rescue 4 and Rescue 5 is an educational effort focused at society, especially youngsters who were too young to actually understand the events of September 11th and what that day means to members of the fire service and the country as a whole.
The Project works with fire departments across the country to host the Rescues throughout the year. The Project coordinates with host fire departments to facilitate 9/11 educational programming, memorials and remembrance events. The Project strives to keep the memories alive of those lost on September 11th and all firefighters killed in the line of duty every year. http://remembrance.co
